Accessibility

There is an accessible entrance located on the North side of the venue. Please contact the Box Office at 515-223-6152 at least five (5) business days prior the event regarding any special requests or accommodation needs.

Alcohol

No food/beverage may be brought into the Val Air Ballroom, and no alcoholic beverages may be taken out of the main event center. Guests will be required to show proper photo identification and proof of age when purchasing alcoholic beverages. No consumption of alcohol in the parking lot or in vehicles.
No tailgating.

Animals

Only certified service animals or service animals in training for guest with disabilities are allowed in the building.

ATMs

Two Mini Bank ATMs are located in the building. All cards are charged a $3.00 withdrawal fee.

Bar Service

The majority of the bars/cash registers are set up for cash only. Select bars accept VISA/Mastercard/Discover, but ATMs are available in the building.

Box Office Hours and Location

The Val Air Box Office is located 301 Ashworth Rd, W. Des Moines, IA 50265.
Hours are Tuesday – Friday, Noon to 5 pm; Saturday – Monday, hours pending events otherwise closed.

Cameras

Camera rules differ on an event by event basis, but unless otherwise specified:
NO Professional cameras or lenses; “disposable cameras” only.
NO Audio Recording.
NO Video Recording.

Video Recorders, Tape Recorders and Digital Cameras with recording capabilities are prohibited any time during an event. The Val Air Ballroom reserves the right to examine and prohibit use of any cameras that its personnel deems unacceptable.

Coat check

Coat check is seasonally available for a fee.

Concessions

Limited concessions are available for most events.

Lost and Found

Parking

General parking is $5 per vehicle for most events, unless otherwise specified.
No in/out privileges.
No solicitation.
No consumption of alcohol in the lot or in parked vehicles.
No tailgating, overnight parking or similar activities.

Prohibited Items

Guests of the Val Air will be prohibited from entering with any of the following items:

Air horns or any other artificial noise makers
Fireworks
Laser pens or laser products of any type
Animals (excluding service animals)
Outside food or beverage of any kind (alcoholic beverages included)
Poles or sticks
Projectiles
Weapons of any kind, including guns and knives
Professional video/recording equipment (excluding pre-arranged press)
Any other item deemed unacceptable by the Val Air Ballroom. The Val Air Ballroom will not store any of the aforementioned items.

Refunds

As a general rule, refunds are not issued unless the event is cancelled. In the event that refunds are being offered for an event, please contact your point of purchase (i.e. if you bought tickets through Ticketmaster, you would contact Ticketmaster for your refund; refunds would only be through the box office if that is where you purchased your ticket.)

Rentry

Rentry is prohibited during all ticketed events.

Restrooms

Restrooms are located in the main event center.

Seating

All events are general admission unless otherwise specified. For all events, tables and chairs are available on a first come, first served basis. Guests should retain their tickets throughout the event.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the building, including (but not limited to) the entryway, event center, and bathrooms. Designated outdoor smoking areas and breaks are available on an event by event basis.

Tailgating

Tailgating is strictly prohibited.

Ticket Information

Tickets may be purchased online through Ticketmaster, in person at Ticketmaster locations or the Val Air Box Office, located at 301 Ashworth Rd, W. Des Moines, IA 50265. Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, Noon-5pm.
Tickets may be purchased with cash, or VISA/Mastercard/Discover.

Ticket Reselling
We recommend when purchasing tickets for any event at the Val Air Ballroom you only do so by using Ticketmaster or in person at the Val Air Box Office. Tickets purchased thru a third party could be a lost, stolen, or duplication tickets and will not be accepted. Scalping a ticket is illegal in the event hall or its surrounding properties.

Will Call

Will call tickets are available one hour prior to show.

In order to pick up your will call tickets, you will be required to present a valid state (if a resident of the United States) or government issued (if a resident of Canada or other country) photo ID, driver’s license or passport. A valid ID must be duly issued by a government agency and include a photo and a signature.
